Langer’s Withdrawal Makes England Job A One Horse Race

Justin Langer has withdrawn from the race to become England’s new head coach seemingly leaving the role to his fellow countryman, Jason Gillespie. Langer was 11/8 second favourite for the job with Gillespie 5/4, however, the Yorkshire coach is now just Even money to take over the role.

Tom Moody is now the second favourite at 4/1 with Paul Farbrace the 9/2 third favourite.

“Langer’s signing of a new contract with Western Australia leaves the door open for Jason Gillespie who, as an honorary Englishman after all his time in Yorkshire, is better placed to take the role of England’s head coach,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
