Labour Race Under Orders - Burnham Favourite

ANDY BURNHAM is 5/6 favourite (bet £6 for £5 profit) with bookmakers William Hill to win the four runner Labour leadership race now that the contenders are known.

Mr Burnham heads the market with Liz Kendall, a 20/1 shot when she announced her intention to stand, now the 5/2 second favourite, ahead of third favourite Yvette Cooper, once clear favourite herself to succeed Ed Miliband, but now 3/1 third favourite. The outsider of the field is Jeremy Corbyn at 25/1, but,as William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe pointed out, 'These races have a history of producing upsets - just ask David Miliband - and Mr Corbyn is the same odds as John Major was when he stood to succeed Margaret Thatcher.'

With Mr Burnham the clear favourite and Tom Watson 10/11 favourite to become his Deputy, Hills offer 2/1 that the Party will have males in both positions, 5/2 that they willend up wit a male leader and female deputy; 3/1 both positions occupiered by females; 3/1 female leader/male deputy.
