Labour Leadership – Will Punters Be Minted After Backing Kendall?

Liz Kendall is the first to throw her hat in the ring and has been trimmed from 16/1 to 10/1 by Britain’s biggest bookmaker William Hill. She is the sixth favourite, with Chuka Umunna the current 2/1 favourite.

“Liz Kendall is a contender but she remains some way behind the so called big five,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

Elsewhere the other two leadership races look far more predictable with Tim Farrom 1/7 to take over as the leader of the Lib Dems and Nigel Farage is 4/7 to be reinstated as the UKIP leader. Boris Johnson is a 9/4 shot to be the next Conservative leader.

Next Permanent Labour Leader: 2/1 Chuka Umunna, 3/1 Andy Burnham, 7/2 Dan Jarvis, 9/2 Yvette Cooper, 6/1 Tristram Hunt, 10/1 Liz Kendall, 20/1 David Miliband, 20/1 Rachel Reeves

Next Permanent Lib Dem Leader: 1/7 Tim Farron, 9/2 Norman Lamb, 12/1 Greg Mulholland, 14/1 Carmichael, 25/1 Tom Brake, 50/1 Ed Davey, 100/1 Simon Hughes
