Khawaja Best Backed Batsman for Boxing Day Test

Despite not yet knowing if he’s going to play, Usman Khawaja remains the best backed batsmen for Saturday’s Boxing Day Test Match against the West Indies.

Immediately following Khawaja’s classy century in the Big Bash for the Sydney Thunder on Sunday, William Hill punters began backing the stylish left-hander. He is now $5.00 to score the most first innings runs for Australia.

The news isn’t so good for Joe Burns, with not a single bet placed for the incumbent opener.

“David Warner usually always tops the money wagered and bet count when it comes to our most runs markets, but Khawaja’s classy century stirred something in the masses,” William Hill’s Tim Ashworth said.

“Adam Voges is the other batsmen seeing some love, but we’ve seen nothing at all for poor Joe Burns.”
