Irving Fighting Favourite And Vaniteux Cut For Arkle

Irving is 5-2 favourite with William Hill for the Fighting Fifth Hurdle this weekend, after victory at Haydock over the weekend. Paul Nicholls’ hurdler edged a good battle to the line with Top Notch, who is 10-1 to turn the tables.

Arctic Fire and Wicklow Brave are joint second favourites at 3-1 with William Hill - the former won the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan last time, while the latter was third of five runners in the Grade 1 Morgiana Hurdle.

“Irving is clearly in good heart but Arctic Fire and Wicklow Brave won’t make life easy for him,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Meanwhile, Vaniteux has been cut from 20-1 to 12-1 for the Arkle after victory in a novice chase at Kempton.
