Hurricane Irish Champion Favourite

Hurricane Fly has been installed as William Hill’s 8-11 favourite for the BHP Irish Champion Hurdle later this month. Willie Mullins’ four-time winner of the race is unbeaten at Leopardstown in nine starts after landing the Ryanair Hurdle at the track in December.

Current Cheltenham Champion Hurdler, Jezki, is the 11-8 second-favourite with William Hill, while all others in the new market are at double-figure odds.

“Hurricane Fly appears to have the upper hand over Jezki, particularly at Leopardstown and we expect a wave of punts on one of the most popular hurdlers around,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Hurricane Fly is a current 12-1 chance for the Cheltenham Festival two-miler, with Jezki at 11-2. Faugheen remains a popular favourite at 5-4, with The New One second in the list at 5-2.
