Hans Up To Back Holbein For The Derby

William Hill quote Hans Holbein at 20-1 from 50-1 for the Derby after the Aidan O’Brien-trained colt won the Chester Vase.

Hans Holbein certainly didn’t look like a Derby horse after being turned over at Gowran and Cork in his first two starts, but after breaking his maiden at Leopardstown and going on to score at Chester, there’s growing confidence.

“After disappointing performances from the likes of John F Kennedy and Sir Isaac Newton, Hans Holbein could now be a Derby contender,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
