Grand National: McCoy's Mount Could Be Shortest Odds Since Red Rum

AP McCoy says he is very likely to ride Shutthefrontdoor in the 2015 Crabbie’s Grand National and William Hill are bracing themselves for a flood of bets as punters back the popular Champion.

The bookmaking giants predict that Shutthefrontdoor could be the shortest-priced favourite since Red Rum in 1975. The legendary chaser was looking for the hat-trick after winning the Aintree feature in 1973 and 1974 and was backed-in to 7/2 favourite – he finished second behind L’Escargot.

“We’re staring down the barrel of potentially the biggest payout of the year. The momentum is building for McCoy’s final ride in the Grand National and Shutthefrontdoor could start as the shortest-priced favourite since Red Rum.”

2015 Crabbie’s Grand National: 8-1 Shutthefrontdoor, 10-1 Rocky Creek, 12-1 Balthazar King, 14-1 The Druids Nephew, 20-1 Alvarado, Cause Of Causes, Godsmejudge, Soll, Spring Heeled, 25-1 Merry King, Pineau De Re, Royale Knight, Unioniste, 33-1 Al Co, Broadway Buffalo, First Lieutenant, Goonyella, Guess Again, Many Clouds, Monbeg Dude, Night In Milan, Rebel Rebellion, Saint Are, Sam Winner, The Package, 40-1 BAR (EW ¼ Odds Places 1,2,3,4)
