Goodwood Cup: Could Fox Pip Paris?

Goodwood Cup: Could Fox Pip Paris?

The Qatar Goodwood Cup is the feature race on Day 3 of Glorious Goodwood and Ascot Gold Cup winner Trip To Paris is the one to beat according to William Hill.

Trip To Paris is 4-1 favourite with William Hill, but the big move in the race is for Oriental Fox, who has shortened to 8-1 from 12-1.

Oriental Fox, trained by Mark Johnston, won the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Ascot last time after nearly a year off the track.

“There’s some cunning money for Oriental Fox in the Goodwood Cup,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “Along with Trip To Paris, they are the two best-backed horses in the race.”

Big Orange is second in the list at 9-2 and comes in to the race after winning a Group 2 against good opposition at Newmarket’s July course last time.

Veteran in the line-up, Simenon, was fourth in the Ascot Gold Cup last time and is at 11-2 in the Goodwood Cup betting with William Hill.
