Golf: Bookmakers Think Tiger Could Tank At Masters
Bookmakers William Hill think Tiger Woods could be in danger of missing the cut at next week’s Masters and offer odds of just Even-Money that he limps out after the early rounds.
It’s 8/11 that Woods makes the cut – in other words, Tiger is marginally more likely to make it in to the latter stages than not – but it could be a close run thing.
“We know how capable Tiger is on his day, but it’s tough to know which Woods will turn up. He’s like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde – will he be marvellous or monstrous? The betting suggests it’s too close to call,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
Woods is 40/1 to bring home the Masters title, but it’s Northern Ireland’s favourite son, Rory McIlroy who is the tournament favourite at 11/2 with William Hill.
