Gleneagles Odds-On For Double Guineas Glory

Gleneagles is the 4-9 favourite with William Hill for this weekend’s Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas as Aidan O’Brien aims to extend his excellent record in the race. O’Brien has trained nine winners of the Irish 2000 Guineas and holds strong claims as he bids to add to that tally.

Gleneagles was an impressive winner of the Qipco 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and has had three weeks to prepare for his tilt at becoming a dual Guineas champion.

“Gleneagles showed at Newmarket that he is a force to be reckoned with and he is the one they all have to beat this weekend,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Newmarket Guineas third, Ivawood, represents Richard Hannon and is next in the betting at 9-2. O’Brien also holds Highland Reel at 12-1 and Dermot Weld’s leading contender is 12-1 chance Tombelaine.
