Geraghty & Mcmanus 4/1 For Major Cheltenham Success

Reports suggest that Barry Geraghty is primed for the retained rider job with JP McManus and William Hill are offering odds on his success this season.

William Hill are offering a price of 4/1 that Geraghty wins one or more of the major championship races for JP McManus at the 2016 Cheltenham Festival.

“Barry Geraghty will now have the pick of any rides for JP McManus and he could be on some very good horses for the major races,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

But unlike his predecessor in the role, AP McCoy, it looks unlikely that Geraghty will pick up the Champion Jockey title this term. Hills offer 33/1 that he can make up the difference on Richard Johnson and claim the Champion Jockey crown – Geraghty is already 39 winners behind.

“Geraghty is already playing catch-up on Richard Johnson, so it looks unlikely that he could win the title this season,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
