Gary Anderson Triumphs In Thrilling William Hill World Darts Championship Final

After a real see-saw final to the 2015 William Hill World Darts Championship, it was Gary Anderson who claimed his first ever title after defeating antepost favourite, Phil Taylor. Both Taylor and Anderson went odds on during the final as momentum swung throughout the match, however it was the pre-tournament third favourite who lifted his maiden title

As the match went into a final set, it was Phil Taylor who was the favourite with William Hill making him 6/10 compared to 5/4 for Gary Anderson.

Phil Taylor is the 5/2 favourite to win the 2016 William Hill World Championship of Darts despite his loss in this year’s final against Anderson. The Flying Scotsman is 6/1 third favourite with the sponsors behind 2014 champion Michael van Gerwen.

“We have seen one of the best finals of all time and after a gutting defeat, Phil Taylor will undoubtedly come back even hungrier next year,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
