Referendum Before June Next Year?

BOOKMAKERS William Hill have cut their odds for the EU Referendum to take place before the end of June 2016 from 9/2 to 5/2, following suggestions that an earlier, rather than later, vote is on the cards.

William Hill still make between July and December 2016 their favourite to be the date, but have lengthened the odds from 11/10 to 6/4.

Whenever it takes place the current odds suggest that the outcome will be a vote to 'stay in' the EU with that option currently 4/9 favourite, while a vote to 'leave' has been backed down from 9/4 to 7/4 in recent weeks.

'Even before the date has been set there is a lively betting market on the outcome and we anticipate that this will be the biggest political betting event since the Scottish Referendum, which broke all records for political betting with up to £20million gambled' said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

IN/OUT EU REFERENDUM...When will it take place?...6/4 between July-December 2016; 9/4 between Jan 2017-July 2017; 5/2 before end of June 2016; 6/1 July 2017 or later.
