Royal Ascot Horse Racing By Jon Ivan-Duke

Free Eagle The One The Bookies Want To Beat

Free Eagle is the horse to beat for the bookmakers on the second day of Royal Ascot, when he lines up in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes. Dermot Weld’s horse who was 3rd to Noble Mission at Ascot back in October, is well fancied to continue on an upward curve this year.

“Free Eagle is the one horse we want to beat and by race time we should have pretty much every other horse in the race running for us,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

William Hill have taken a good spread of money, but Free Eagle is the most popular horse and is likely to start a strong favourite.

The Grey Gatsby will be partnered by Jamie Spencer and has attracted support over the past 48 hours, while Ryan Moore is duty-bound to ride Cannock Chase and has also been backed.

Prince Of Wales’s Stakes: 5-2 Free Eagle, 11-2 Ectot, 6-1 The Grey Gatsby, 7-1 Criterion, 15-2 Cannock Chase, 8-1 Western Hymn, 10-1 Gailo Chop, Spielberg, 20-1 The Corsican, (EW 1/5 Odds Places 1,2,3)*
