Fowler And Rose Are More Popular Than Spieth

Jordan Speith is the 8/1 favourite to win The Open although it is his fellow countryman, Rickie Fowler, who is attracting all the attention from William Hill’s customers. The Scottish Open winner is the most popular selection attracting 8% of all wagers and his odds have fallen from 25/1 to 20/1 under the support. Justin Rose is the second most popular selection at 25/1 with Jordan Spieth (8/1), Phil Mickelson (45/1) and Dustin Johnson (14/1) rounding off the top five best backed selections.

“In terms of who our punters think will win The Open, Justin is an English Rose in amongst the American thorns and after Rickie Fowler he is the most popular selection,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “The money suggests he will be there or thereabouts come the end of the tournament.”
