Flat Jockeys' Championship: Bookmaker Not Budging on Betting

William Hill are not budging on the betting market for the UK Flat Jockeys’ Championship after news that the current format could be adjusted. The Championship could now run between the Guineas weekend in May to Champions Day in October, but the leading bookmaker holds a firm stance on the current betting market.

“There won’t be any changes to the dates of the current betting market. If anyone has placed a bet on the Championship, it will be settled from 28th March to 7th November. If there is a change to the Championship format, then we will look to set up a new separate market for those dates.”

But even if the expected changes were to be brought in, William Hill expect little difference in the make-up of the market.

“Richard Hughes is the one they all have to beat and even if there was a change to the Championship dates, he’d still be a strong favourite,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

2015 UK Flat Jockeys Championship (28th March to 7th November inclusive): 1-2 Richard Hughes, 9-4 Ryan Moore, 10-1 William Buick, 14-1 Graham Lee, 20-1 James Doyle, 33-1 Adam Kirby, 40-1 Andrea Atzeni, 50-1 Paul Hanagan, 66-1 Jamie Spencer, Oisin Murphy, (Win Only)
