FIFA Latest: Platini Favourite To Take Over

Michel Platini is the 11/8 favourite to take over from Sepp Blatter when he eventually steps down as FIFA President with William Hill making Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein 6/4 second favourite and Luis Figo 6/1.

It is 7/1 that Russia is stripped of the 2018 World Cup and 5/4 that Qatar is stripped of the 2022 competition. England is 10/1 to step in and save the day should either be cancelled.

William Hill have slashed the odds of England hosting a World Cup before the end of 2050 following Blatter’s resignation. After he won the election on Friday it was 10/1 that England hosts any of the next nine tournaments, however, that number has now been slashed to Even money.

“Now an element of anti-English sentiment has departed in Blatter, there is every chance that England could host the tournament sooner rather than later now,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
