Favourites Backed for Weekend Races

The favourites are strong in this weekend’s big races in both Ireland and the UK, according to William Hill.

Jack Hobbs is solid at the front end of the Irish Derby market, while it is virtually a one-horse book in the Sea The Stars Pretty Polly Stakes, with 1000 Guineas heroine Legatissimo the only horse coming for support.

“Jack Hobbs could be the answer to the 150th Irish Derby, although the in-form Ryan Moore is on Highland Reel who is the only other horse to be supported in the antepost market,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

At Newcastle, Quest For More and Gabrial’s King have been popular since the draw, but initial favourite Seamour and Oasis Fantasy are friendless.
