Faugheen Strong Favourite For Christmas Hurdle

Faugheen is 4-11 favourite with the sponsor for the Christmas Hurdle, as Willie Mullins’ star aims to get back on the winning trail.

The reigning Champion Hurdler lost his unbeaten record to stablemate Nichols Canyon at Punchestown last month, but the bookies expect him to deliver over the festive weekend at Kempton.

“Faugheen is very much the one to beat and it would be a real upset if he is turned over at Kempton,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Faugheen is currently 5-4 favourite for the Champion Hurdle.

The New One is his nearest rival in the Christmas Hurdle betting at 4-1, while Old Guard is 13-2 as he bids for four straight wins after three victories in a row at Cheltenham.
