Faugheen Odds-On for Champion Hurdle

Faugheen has gone odds-on favourite with William Hill after The New One failed to impress, despite winning at Haydock. The New One has been pushed out to 7-2 from 5-2 after making heavy weather of things in the Champion Hurdle Trial. William Hill now make Faugheen 4-5 favourite from 5-4.

“We were all expecting The New One to win, but he’s not done it convincingly and with Faugheen already a bad loser in our book, we’re bracing for impact by going odds-on,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Meanwhile at Ascot, Bitofapuzzle won the Mares’ Hurdle holding off the challenge of Carole’s Spirit and the staying-on Land Of Vic. William Hill cut Bitofapuzzle to 14-1 from 25-1 for the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, with Land Of Vic 16-1 from 25-1 and Carole’s Spirit unchanged at 10-1.
