England Eased For Ashes Victory After Pietersen Snub

It would appear the door of an international return has been closed on Kevin Pietersen, although William Hill are offering 6/1 that he features in any form of the game for his adoptive country before the end of the year.

After the news of KP’s snub, William Hill have pushed England’s odds of winning the Ashes out to 7/2 from 3/1. Australia, who have attracted well over 70% of all Ashes bets so far have, have been trimmed from 4/9 to 2/5.

“England are heading into the summer’s series against Australia snubbing one of their best players and while we always factored in the likely absence of Pietersen into our Ashes prices, the definitive absence of a man who has just hit 355* means we have to ease their price of winning even further,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

“The latest shenanigans surrounding Pietersen will only further attract punters to plump for the Aussies this summer even more than they already have done.”

Piers Morgan has not wasted any time in wading into the debate and he is 100/1 to take up the ECB advisory role that Pietersen turned down.
