England All The Rage For First Test

Perhaps surprisingly given the year they have had, England are attracting two bets for every one that is placed on New Zealand. England are the 11/8 favourites with New Zealand offered at 7/4. “We have been surprised by the patriotic punt, although we are very happy to lay England given the year they have had,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

There has been a big move in who will be named the next permanent England coach, as Tom Moody has become the new favourite at 11/10 (from 4/1) with Jason Gillespie 5/2 and Paul Farbrace 6/1. “We now believe that Jason Gillespie will not accept the role and think Tom Moody is in the driving seat,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

Joe Root is favoured to be the top run scorer for England at 10/3 with debutant Adam Lyth 9/2 to be top scorer and 11/2 to score a hundred in his first England Innings.
