Double Trouble - Wood and Wiggy Lead Hannon Charge

Richard Hannon holds the favourites for both the Greenham Stakes and the Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury on Saturday afternoon and William Hill offer 5-2 that the Champion Trainer wins both races.

In the Greenham, Ivawood is the 6-4 favourite, while Hannon is also positive about the chance of his 6-1 chance Estidhkaar. Meanwhile in the Fred Darling, Tiggy Wiggy is odds-on favourite (4-5).

“Hannon holds the trump cards and could be the bookies’ nemesis at Newbury,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Estidhkaar is the best-backed horse so far for the Greenham and has been trimmed to 6-1 from 7-1, while the Fred Darling market has yet to spark in to life.

*The Hannon family have a tradition of saddling winners at Newbury - 45 years ago, Richard Hannon Snr sent out his first winner, on the 17th April, 1970. It was called Ampney Prince, ridden by Frankie Durr at Newbury.*
