Doran Slashed to be The Next Bond
Bookmakers William Hill have slashed the odds for Jamie Dornan being the next James Bond, as the career of the Fifty Shades Of Grey star goes from strength to strength.
William Hill have more than halved his price to follow Daniel Craig as 007, with odds of 8/1 from 20/1.
“Jamie has a real fan-base from the likes of The Fall and Fifty Shades and he’s the right sort of age to play Bond,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “There’s been an increasing number of bets on him being 007 and Jamie’s 32 – the same age as Sean Connery when he first played Bond.”
Meanwhile, the current favourite Idris Elba is weakening at the head of the market and is now a bigger price of 2/1 (from 6/4).
“We’ve taken the most bets on Idris being Bond, but by the time the next film is made, he’d be the oldest 007 since Roger Moore,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “It’s looking increasingly unlikely he will take over from Daniel Craig.”
A lively outsider could be Aidan Turner, who has been wooing fans of Poldark and William Hill have installed him in to the ‘Next Bond’ betting at 20/1.
