Donald J Trump Third Fav To Be President

Despite opening up as a 150/1 no-hopper when betting began on who would become the next US President, Donald Trump is now the result the bookies William Hill fear most as he has been backed down to 9/2 (stake £2 for £9 profit) third favourite with William Hill, who have only 4/5 (stake £5 for £4 profit) favourite Hillary Clinton, and 10/3 (stake £3 for £10 profit) Marco Rubio ahead of him in the betting.

'Every time the political pundits write Trump off he seems to receive a surge of betting support' said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, 'One of our clients, John Mappin, from Cornwall, already stands to win £57,000 should Trump who, don't forget, started at shorter odds than the 200/1 we offered for Jeremy Corbyn to become Labour leader, makes it to the White House next November.

And today a stranger placed £1000 on Trump to be the Republican candidate at 5/2, and a further £1000 to become President at 9/2, in one of our Cambridgeshire betting shops.'
