Curvy is the strongest in the market for the Darley Irish Oaks, priced as 2/1 favourite, with William Hill reporting that she is attracting the bigger staking punters.

“We’re taking plenty of four figure bets on Curvy and she is the worst result in the book,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “There is a good spread of money across the race though, with Words, Covert Love and Jack Naylor also popular with punters.”

Covert Love has been supplemented for the race at a cost of 40,000 euros (as has Curvy), with Hugo Palmer clearly confident in his filly. She started the week at 9/1 and has been supported in to 7/1.

Qualify, who did the bookies such a favour in the Epsom Oaks, could do the same on Saturday – she’s 7-1 in the betting but relatively untouched at this stage.

“If Qualify completed the Oaks Double, she could be the bookies’ heroine again!” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
