Cricket World Cup Final - 75% of early money for Aussies

Australia’s odds of winning Sunday’s World Cup Cricket final at the MCG have already firmed.

Punters have backed Australia from $1.45 into $1.42 at bookmaker, forcing New Zealand’s odds to drift from $2.75 out to $2.90.

“More than 75% of the money placed on the match so far is for the Aussies to win,” said William Hill’s Andrew Brown.

“We’ve already taken a mountain of four-figure bets for Australia but only seen a trickle of cash for New Zealand.”

Steve Smith is the $3.75 favourite to be Australia’s top run scorer, in front of David Warner ($4), Aaron Finch ($5) and Michael Clarke ($6.50).

Mitchell Starc is the $3 favourite to take the most wickets for Australia, ahead of Mitchell Johnson ($3.75), Josh Hazlewood ($4.50) and Pat Cummins ($4.50).
