Corbyn Wins - But Won't Make It To General Election, Say Bookies!

BOOKMAKERS William Hill, who make Jeremy Corbyn their red-hot 1/3 favourite to be voted in as Labour leader, have now opened a book on whether he will then survive long enough to lead the Party into the next General Election - and they are offering odds of 4/1 (stake £1 for profit of £4) that he WILL, but 1/7 (stake £7 for profit of £1) that he WILL NOT. (Stakes on this bet will be refunded should Corbyn not win the Leadership vote.)

'Although our betting suggests Jeremy Corbyn will win the Labour leadership vote by a landslide, we can't see him surviving the fall-out within the Party afterwards, and suspect that, rather like Iain Duncan Smith, he will come and go without leading Labour into a General Election' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Meanwhile, Hills have lengthened their odds for Labour to win an overall majority at the next General Election from 5/2 to 10/3.
