Corbyn Is Punters' Darling

A WILLIAM HILL customer from Darlington has staked £2900 - the biggest bet yet - on Jeremy Corbyn becoming Labour leader - after telling staff he had planned to back Yvette Cooper, only to change his mind.

Meanwhile, another Hill's client, from Blackburn, who staked £10 on Jeremy Corbyn when he first entered the race is hoping to land a £2000 profit, as his wager was struck at odds of 200/1 when Corbyn was generally regarded as a no-hope outsider.

'Five early, and possibly psychic, customers snapped up our 200/1 odds, but the biggest ever turnaround in political betting history then propelled Mr Corbyn's odds in a downward direction, to their current level of 1/3, leaving us staring at a five figure battering if he goes on to win - we're desperate for anyone other than Jeremy to come out on top.' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

WILLIAM HILL.......Labour Leader odds....1/3 Corbyn; 10/3 Burnham; 13/2 Cooper; 100/1 Kendall.
