Corbyn 5/6 To Win In First Round

WILLIAM HILL are offering odds of 5/6 that Jeremy Corbyn will become the new Labour leader after the first round of voting by collecting sufficient First Preferences.

The man who started as a 200/1 no-hoper in the betting is now 2/7 (stake £7 for profit of £2) favourite with William Hill, who make Andy Burnham 4/1 second favourite, with Yvette Cooper at 13/2 and Liz Kendall 100/1.

'We have shortened Corbyn's odds again, from 1/3, yet we're still seeing three figure bets being placed on him and may have to shorten the odds yet again' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe. Hills offer odds of 2/7 that even if he becomes Leader he will no longer be in office when the next General Election takes place - and 5/2 that he will survive long enough to lead the Party into the General Election.
