Chautauqua In-Play for Darley Classic Despite Downpour

The wild weather hasn’t dampened the spirit of punters ahead of tomorrow’s Darley Classic with the odds on favourite Chautauqua proving the most popular with William Hill clients.

Chautauqua is currently $1.65 with William Hill for the 1200m straight-track sprint as he attempts to make amends for last year’s second placing when Terravista beat him home.

“The track has copped a hammering from the wild weather, but it hasn’t stopped punters from jumping on Chautauqua who’s been absolutely flying of late,” William Hill spokesman Tim Ashworth said.

“He was super impressive in the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley last start and we’re expecting punters to continue to follow him in right up until the jump.

“Our Racing In-Play product is live again for all races at Flemington tomorrow, so despite being one of the fastest races of the year punters will again have up to 20 seconds after the jump to get their bets on at the pre-jump fixed odds.”
