Burnham Leadership Bid Fires Up Punters

ANDY BURNHAM has become the odds-on favourite with William Hill to win the race to become the next Labour leader.

Hills cut Mr Burnham's odds from 5/4 to 10/11 favourite, ahead of 3/1 Liz Kendall and 10/3 Yvette Cooper as political punters weighed in with substantial bets on him. 'Mr Burnham's campaign appears to be picking up steam and has definitely been boosted by the endorsement from Dan Jarvis, who would have been a potential major contender had he decided to stand' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.'However, punters just may end up 'burning' their fingers by backing Mr Burnham so early as front-runners often fail to last the distance in such contests'

WILLIAM HILL...NEXT LABOUR LEADER....10/11 Andy Burnham; 3/1 Liz Kendall; 10/3 Yvette Cooper; 12/1 Tristram Hunt; 16/1 Mary Creagh; 40/1 Chris Leslie; 50/1 Harriet Harman. Others on request.
