Burnham Joins Five Horse Race To Be Labour Leader

ANDY BURNHAM is 3/1 second favourite with William Hill after joining what the bookies see as just a five horse race to become Labour leader.

Hills make early contender Chuka Umunna 5/4 favourite to emerge to succeed Ed Miliband, with Liz Kendall 11/2 third favourite; Yvette Cooper, expected to declare shortly and already the subject of the largest bet on the race, £2000, 6/1 fourth favourite, and Tristram Hunt is 9/1, the only other contender in single figure odds. The sixth favourite, Stella Creasy, is offered at 28/1 - longer odds than the 25/1 Grand National winner, Many Clouds.

'Already the field is forming and political punters are only interested in five candidates' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.'The rest of the field are being treated as also-rans.'

NEXT LABOUR LEADER ODDS...5/4 Umunna; 3/1 Burnham; 11/2 Kendall; 6/1 Cooper; 9/1 Hunt.
