Burgess Benched But Could He Be Super-Sub?

Sam Burgess will start on the bench for England against Australia, but William Hill price him at 9/2 to come on and score a try.

It follows the squad announcement, with Jonathan Joseph fit to face the Wallabies and demoting Burgess to the subs bench.

“Burgess may be benched but he could still be England’s saviour on Saturday,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

England are 4/5 favourites to win on Saturday against Australia, with the Aussies 5/4 and the draw at 18/1.

“England will be heavily backed to beat the Aussies as patriotic punters hope for a historic win,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
