Brian May Or May Not Be An MP - But Can He Beat Al Murray?

WITH Queen guitarist Brian May declaring he is likely to stand for Parliament at the General Election, bookmakers William Hill are offering odds of 25/1 that he will be elected as an MP - and make him hot favourite to poll more votes than fellow celebrity candidate, Al 'Pub Landlord' Murray.

'Celebrity candidates look like becoming a major feature of this General Election and we think Brian May is likely to have more appeal to electors than comedian Al Murray' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, as they installed May as 1/ 4 favourite to receive more votes than Murray, aka Pub Landlord, who is 11/4 to outdo the musician.

However, Murray has been well backed to win the seat in South Thanet and his odds have been already cut by Hills from 80/1 to 33/1.

BRIAN MAY to become an MP at the General Election - 25/1; AL 'Pub Landlord' MURRAY to become an MP at the General Election- 33/1.

TO RFECEIVE MORE VOTES IF THEY BOTH STAND AT GENERAL ELECTION- 1/4 May; 11/4 Murray. (Bets void if oneor neither stands.)
