Boris To Swap Bike For Bugatti?

With Jeremy Clarkson’s Top Gear future up in the air, one rather unusual candidate threw his hat into the ring on Monday. During a #askboris session on Twitter, The Mayor of London admitted he is a big fan of Jeremy Clarkson but would certainly like to be considered should he leave the show. William Hill are not too convinced of his chances of replacing Clarkson should he depart and make him a 66/1 shot to be named as a Top Gear presenter – the same odds as Katie Price.

He is a long way behind the favourites, Jodie Kidd at 3/1 and Chris Evans at 7/2.

“It’s all well and good Boris saying he is a big fan of the show but if he wins his seat in Uxbridge and South Ruislip (for which he is 1/50) and become a Minister in the next government (for which he is 13/8) as well as continuing his role as London Mayor, he will surely have far too much on his plate to be filming Top Gear as well,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Jeremy Clarkson is massively odds on to stay on the show, however, with odds of 1/3 offered that he presents the 23rd series of the show – 9/4 he does not.

To replace Jeremy Clarkson as Top Gear presenter: 3/1 Jodie Kidd; 7/2 Chris Evans; 5/1 Steve Coogan; 11/2 Johnny Vaughan; 6/1 Dermot O’Leary; 6/1 Eddie Irvine; 8/1 Eddie Jordan; 10/1 Ant and Dec; 10/1 Chris Moyles; 12/1 David Coulthard; 12/1 Jimmy Carr; 12/1 Piers Morgan; 12/1 Tiff Needell; 14/1 Martin Brundle; 14/1 Suzi Perry; 16/1 Guy Martin; 20/1 James Nesbitt; 20/1 Jay Kay; 25/1 Damon Hill; 25/1 James Blunt; 25/1 John Inverdale; 25/1 Patrick Kielty; 33/1 Ben Collins; 33/1 Nigel Mansell; 33/1 Vernon Kay; 40/1 Rowan Atkinson; 66/1 Boris Johnson; 66/1 Katie Price
