Boris Leader Odds Cut After Conference Speech

TWENTY NINE PER CENT (the highest percentage) of the bets taken by William Hill on who will be the next leader of the Conservative Party have been for George Osborne, who is also the most expensive result for the bookie, and is their current 11/8 favourite.

Boris Johnson's odds have been cut from 4/1 to 7/2 second favourite by Hills following his well-received Conference speech on Tuesday, and he has attracted 22% - the second largest amount behind Osborne- of the bets struck so far.

Third best backed contender is Theresa May, with 15% of the bets placed, and she has gone out slightly in the betting from 8/1 to 9/1 third favourite after her Conference speech.

Hills have taken 9% of bets for 10/1 fourth favourite Sajid Javid. Somewhat suprisingly, the 5th best backed contender is 40/1 outsider Priti Patel, with 6% of the bets.
