Bookies Relieved After Luna Loses

Bookmakers William Hill were breathing a sigh of relief after Leo Luna failed to win in the last race at Sandown.

Britain’s biggest bookie predicted that the multiples on Gary Moore’s horses would have cost them in the region of £5million.

Following wins for Flute Bowl (SP 5/1), Ar Mad (SP 14/1) and Sire De Grugy (SP 100/30), seven figure liabilities were riding on Leo Luna in the last race, but he failed to win.

“The Christmas Party is still on. Gary Moore has cost us a fair amount today but if Leo Luna had won we would have been up the Tingle Creek without a paddle,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

The eventual winner, Carole’s Destrier receives a quote of 14/1 from 20/1 for the Welsh National.
