Bookies Praying For Rain
With large potential payouts for both a rain free Wimbledon (12/1) and for a hosepipe ban (3/1) William Hill are desperately hoping that the clouds will roll into SW19.
“We are practising our rain dances as a rain free Wimbledon would cost us a small fortune,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
William Hill have also cut the price of temperatures hitting 100f this year from 9/2 to 4/1.
“When temperatures topped 100f in 2003 the industry was hit for £250,000, that figure will almost certainly rise should the mercury pass 100f this summer,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
