Bookies Fear Moore Magic

Ryan Moore has been firing in the winners at the big meetings all season and he holds some decent chances on the opening day of the July Festival at Newmarket on Thursday.

William Hill have priced up how many winners he will ride in Thursday’s Channel 4 Races (2.10, 2.40, 3.15 and 3.45):

No Winners – 6/4

Exactly One Winner – 11/10

Two Or More Winners – 3/1

While punters will be keen to bet on anything he rides, the bookies fear another rampant meeting for Moore.

“Moore has cost the bookmakers dearly this season and punters absolutely love him. He’s the jockey they all want to back and if he has a good July Festival, it could be a bad one for the bookies,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Moore Rides In Thursday’s C4 Races:

In the opening contest, the Bahrain Trophy at 2.10pm, Moore partners Horseshoe Bay for Sir Michael Stoute, who seemed to improve a huge amount to win at Newmarket (Rowley Mile) to break his maiden.

In the Arqana July Stakes at 2.40pm, Moore is on board Experto Crede for Ed Walker. The trainer/jockey combination have a 50% strike rate together.

In the 3.15pm Princess Of Wales’s Arqana Racing Club Stakes, Moore rides course and distance winner Gospel Choir. The pair struck in the Listed Fred Archer Stakes at the track last month.

And in the 3.45pm handicap, Moore sits atop Dissolution, who was denied a clear run when a beaten favourite in the King George V Stakes at Ascot.
