Bookied Ready for Jack Attack

Ahead of the Chester Cup, Tony Martin’s Quick Jack is the 11-2 favourite with William Hill and he is popular with punters. The market leader will be ridden by Richard Hughes and was last seen over jumps when he was third in the Vincent O’Brien County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

“Quick Jack is a popular favourite and likely to be a nasty result for the bookies,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

However, Zafayan is the best-backed horse so far and has shortened with William Hill over the past 24 hours from 10-1 to 9-1. Dermot Weld sends Zafayan over from Ireland and Pat Smullen is booked to ride.

As a result of Zafayan shortening, William Hill have pushed out Mymatechris to 14-1 from 12-1, while Trip To Paris is 11-1 from 10-1.

Dr Marwan Koukash owns five horses in the race, but it is Gabrial’s King that is the most popular of his quintet – he’s narrowed to 8-1 from initial odds of 14-1. Meanwhile William Hill are offering 13-8 Dr Koukash owns the winner of the Chester Cup - a race that he loves to win.
