Biggest Ever FA Cup Bet: One Punter Wagers Half A Million On Arsenal Victory!

William Hill have today taken their biggest ever FA Cup wager and handed over their biggest ever FA Cup payout. A punter from the West Midlands placed an online wager totalling half a million pounds on an Arsenal victory at 8/15. The result was never in doubt as Arsenal cruised to victory and the gutsy punter received a whopping £766,666.67.

“It was a gutsy bet for a one off cup match but from the first minute Arsenal were in control and it will have been the easiest quarter of a million this punter will have ever made,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “He was not the only punter who will have been celebrating after 86% of all bets on the game were on an Arsenal win.”

A Theo Walcott first scorer was a pretty tough result for Hills to take as he was far and away the best backed to net the opener.

Arsenal have been installed as 6/1 joint favourites with Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United to win next season’s competition.
