Big Money Bets Suggest Hefty Wins For Oxford In Boat Race

Bets of up to £700 have been wagered on both Oxford’s men’s and women’s crews winning this year’s boat race. This has meant that their odds have tumbled from a respective 4/6 and 4/7 to both be massive favourites at 1/4 (men’s) and 1/6 (women’s).

“With less than a week to go until the boat race, it looks highly likely in our punters’ eyes that both Oxford first crews will win and win comfortably,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

So comfortable are William Hill predicting that the victories will be, the winning distance in the men’s race is predicted to be by over three lengths at 8/11.

Women’s outright: 1/6 Oxford; 7/2 Cambridge; 66/1 dead heat

Men’s outright: 1/4 Oxford; 11/4 Cambridge; 66/1 dead heat

Men’s winning distance: 8/11 over three lengths, 11/4 two to three lengths, 3/1 under 2 lengths
