Benn Backed To Be Next Leader

HILARY BENN has been heavily backed to succeed Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader following his dramatic speech, with William Hill slashing his odds from 8/1 to 2/1 favourite.

Meanwhile, Hills make Jeremy Corbyn 5/1 to stand down as leader this year and 5/4 to go in 2016.

'Mr Benn is looking like a leader in waiting if and when Mr Corbyn steps down' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, 'And political punters rushed to back him following his speech'

NEXT ELECTED LABOUR LEADER; 2/1 Benn; 7/2 Jarvis; 9/1 Nandy; Watson; 14/1 D Miliband; Umunna. Others on request.
