Bidourey Favourite to Bring Home the Cup

William Hill have released their first market on the William Hill Imperial Cup following the five-day declarations for the weekend's big race at Sandown.

Bidourey is the 6-1 favourite for trainer David Pipe and carries an unblemished record in to the race. He holds entries in the Fred Winter and the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham and could potentially go on to secure a £100,000 bonus if he manages to win the William Hill Imperial Cup and go on to success at the Festival.

There is a tradition within the Pipe family to do the double, with David landing the race in 2007 with Gaspara before going on to victory in the Fred Winter, while Martin Pipe achieved the feat twice, with Olympian in 1993 and Blowing Wind in 1998.

“Bidourey is unbeaten, runs for the trainer with the best record in the race over the last decade and has a fighting chance of landing the £100,000 bonus,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “The race has attracted a strong field and it looks likely to be a quality renewal.”
