Betting Closes On Brits – Who Will Be Big Winners?

William Hill have closed their betting on this year’s Brit Awards leaving Royal Blood, Ed Sheeran and Paloma Faith in pole position for the big awards. Betting for the Best Band shut on Friday as a plunge on Royal Blood saw their odds tumble to 1/2 favourites, way ahead of second favourites and 3/1 shots, One Direction.

In both the awards for best male and album, it was Ed Sheeran who led the way. He was 4/9 for his album X and the same price to win best male – coincidentally, Sam Smith is second favourite for both these awards.

Paloma Faith is by far the biggest favourite of the night offered at 1/3 to win best female before betting closed on Saturday ahead of Ella Henderson at 5/1.

“If the betting is to be believed, 1D are going to miss out again on best band, this time to Royal Blood who can do no wrong at the moment,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “Ed Sheeran should be the big winner of the night, while Paloma Faith looks all but certain to be named best female.”
