BBC To Axe Stations With Changes Afoot?
With changes proposed by the DG of the BBC William Hill are looking into whether there will be any cutbacks across the major TV and radio stations.
The station most in danger look likely to be BBC3 for whom Britain’s biggest bookie goes odds on (1/3) to no longer be on air by the end of 2016. Also at risk is Radio 1 Extra which is just 9/4 to be axed before the end of next year.
“Much of Lord Tony Hall speech hinted at evolution for the BBC and while there will a number of changes for the better, there may well be at least one TV station and potentially one radio station axed soon,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
The stalwarts of BBC1, BBC2, Radio 1 and Radio 2 look to safe.
