BAFTAs TV Awards: EastEnders Set To Trump Corrie

At every TV Awards, it is always a fight between EastEnders and Coronation and this Sunday’s BAFTA TV Awards is no different. In the category for best soap or continuing drama, William Hill make EastEnders the 2/5 favourite after a number of juicy storylines – including “who killed Lucy Beale” which attracted upwards of £4m worth of betting.

Coronation Street is 5/2 while Casualty and Hollyoaks bring up the rear at 9/1 and 14/1.

“Whether you watch EastEnders or not, it was impossible to avoid the Lucy Beale storyline and it is near impossible to see the show failing to win this weekend,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

National Treasures, Benedict Cumberbatch and Sheridan Smith are both odds on to win a BAFTA this weekend with the former 10/11 to win leading actor for Sherlock and the latter 1/4 to win for her portrayal of Cilla Black.
