As You Were For Mercedes… McLaren 5/4 To Both Fail To Finish

It was very much a case of as you were in the qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix, as Lewis Hamilton qualified just ahead of his McLaren teammate Nico Rosberg and William Hill offer just 5/2 that Mercedes nab pole position for every race this season.

Hamilton is unsurprisingly favourite to now win the race at 4/11 with Nico Rosberg 5/2. The next closest challengers are Felipe Massa and Sebastian Vettel at 25/1 which shows just how far ahead the Mercedes car is of the chasing pack.

The McLaren duo had a disaster and qualified on the back row of the grid and William Hill make Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen 1000/1 to win the race, while it is just 5/4 that neither driver finishes the race.

“Lewis and Nico are just so far ahead of the rest of the field that is quite easy to see them becoming dominant this season and locking out pole position,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “In contrast McLaren’s star has plummeted as low as it could possibly go and while the only way is up from their current position, the ascent will most probably not happen in Australia.”

Race winner: 4/11 Lewis Hamilton; 5/2 Nico Rosberg; 25/1 Felipe Massa; 25/1 Sebastian Vettel; 33/1 Valterri Bottas; 40/1 Kimi Raikkonen; 66/1 Daniel Ricciardo; 500/1 BAR

Total McLaren finishers: 5/4 none; 5/4 one; 4/1 two

Mercedes to win every qualifying session this season: 5/2
